WORLD ANGEL DAY REPORT

I attended the 3rd annual World Angel Day in London on October 17th. For those of you who weren't there, here's a brief sumary of what happened on this inspiring day.

The day began with beautiful angel music by Michael Hammer and Lelama, a singer with an exquisite voice dressed in a white robe, who looked just like an angel on stage. James Twyman then spoke about fostering world peace. He got the audience to sing peace songs from around the world in harmony, and talked about the new era in which we live. He spoke about nowadays, as well as taking our own steps towards fostering peace, we are expecting much more from our leaders. Rather than them exalting us to better behaviours, we now demand more from our leaders. These new expectations and participation by the masses can help to bring about the changes we seek.

As an amusing aside, James told how a clergyman from the Almighty God Church had decided to ring home one afternoon to tell his wife he would be late home. "That's funny" he though "I'm sure she's in - perhpas I misdialled. I'll call again." Sure enough she was there.
The next day, his phone rang. "Did you call me yesterday?" a man asked. Eventually he remembered the misdialled call.
"Let me tell you what happened" said the man.
"Yesterday, Ii was getting ready to commit suicide. I had written a will and note, and had everything prepared. I was ready to do it when the phone rang. I have one of those machines that tells you who is calling. The machine said "Almighty God" was calling me!! I was so scared I dared not pick it up, but figured if God was calling me there must be some reason for me to live. That phone call saved my life!

Spirit works in wonderful ways!

Gary Quinn spoke next about following our passions and our divinely guided visions with commitment and belief - doing whatever was necessary to make it happen. He told us to be a stand for miracles guiding us forward, rather than focusing on all the excuses why it might not be possible. he also promotoed his new book 'Living in the Spiritual Zone'.

Qala then performed a couple of amazingly powerful spiritual exercises with white light and Archangel Michael to assist our evolution. Author Glennyce Eckersley, who documents examples of angel expereinces, told us some stories about angelic help, including how they are now even using new technology such as mobile phones to pass on messages and create miracles.

Mark Hughes performed his angel songs, and James Twynan and Gary Quinn had further slots before the closig ceremony.

A refreshingly varied and uplifting day, inviting all of us to continue upon our spiritual journeys.

THE NEED FOR RECONCILIATION

I imagine that many of you, like me, have read Nelson Mandela's autobiography "Long Walk to Freedom". When Mandela was released from a South African prison after 27 years he had every right to be bitter and to seek revenge. To the surprise of many he came out seeking not revenge but reconciliation with the leaders of the regime that had incarcerated him. By responding that way he became the cornerstone of the new South Africa and one of the greatest statesmen of the century.

Rather than hating the 'people' that had imprisoned him Mandela reserved his hatred for the 'system' of oppression which had turned his people against each other. On his release he preached non-violence, forgiveness and understanding, inspiring a nation into unity.

It is with some sadness that I watch the news with reports of daily attrocities. Although I am sickened by the crime and brutality that is committed against ordinary human beings every day, I am also saddened that our world leaders choose to forget or ignore the example that Mandela gave. The so-called 'terrorist threat', although unforgiveable in its acts, will never be resolved without a move towards understanding and reconcilliation. Not once during the long and exhausting US election campaign have I heard a candidate speak of unity across nations or between cultures. America seems, instead, to want to become more segregated and distant from the rest of the world - claiming that this is the only way to a secure future. It sounds uncannily like the arguments of apartheid South Africa 40 years ago.

In a post 9/11 world many people feel trapped by fear. Surely this is little different from the imprisonment experienced by Mandela. Perhaps the long road to freedom for us will be through the same expression of love that he gave. Next time you pray or mourn the loss of an innocent victim, spare a thought for the perpetrator who may also feel imprisoned and trapped. It may be that your thoughts and prayers will help set as all free.

GUIDED BY THE ANGELS

Our home study course, Guided By Angels, celebrated its second anniversary in August. Little did we think that when we launched the course back in 2002 that we would help so many people around the globe to reach out and discover the angels for themselves.

Angel Story

This brief story was sent to me by Sue Walsh. It helps to show how the angels help with everyday practical matters, as well as other areas of our lives.

"I was looking for a credit card and was about to apply for one with the best rate I could find when my inner guidance told me to wait a day or two. That night I saw an advert on TV for a card with much lower rates and better benefits! I'm glad I listened." I often ask the angels to guide me when shopping to help me find what I want at the right price.

Once I was looking for a new pair of smart grey trousers - not a difficult purchase I thought - but I couldn't find a suitable pair anyway. I asked for help. Weeks went by with the message 'Don't even bother going to town to look - they're not there'. (That saved me time and effort). Finally one saturday they told me to go to Gap (not my usual store). There was exactly what I wanted, and at a bargain price in the sale no less. Thank you angels.

With the festive season fast approaching, its nice to know the angels can help us with our finances and with the little things in life, like shopping. Go shopping with the angels - now there's a message the ladies will like!
